Affiliate Disclosure
Effective date: 9 October 2026
Exact Ratio is free to read and costs money to produce. This page explains where that money comes from.
The arrangement in one paragraph
Several links on this site point to the War Thunder website. They are paid affiliate links: if you follow one and register an account there, the affiliate network that operates the link pays MBRODA s.r.o. a commission out of the advertiser's budget. It is not added to anything you pay, and nothing on the destination site costs you more because you arrived through us.
Who pays, and for what
Payment is for a completed registration, not a sale: a commission becomes payable when a person registers, confirms their email address and logs into the game. Whether anyone later spends money there makes no difference to what we receive.
We are paid by the affiliate network that operates the link, not by the game's publisher, with whom we have no contract and no contact. The network's reports show counts of referrals and the commission owed, and nothing that identifies an individual reader. Our Privacy Policy covers this.
Where the paid links appear
There are four of them, and they sit in the same places every time:
- Step 2, where the course says that only the vendor's own published requirements are authoritative and points you at them.
- Step 3, where the course says that the vendor's own terms and privacy policy are the documents to read.
- Step 4, at the point where the registration sequence begins on the vendor's landing page.
- Step 5, where the course sets out what the vendor and the network state about the product.
Every one carries a note beside it saying it is a paid link, in ordinary body text. There is a disclosure box on the homepage above the step list. And this page exists. Three places, deliberately.
There are no paid links on the homepage, in Step 1, in any checklist or anywhere in the navigation.
What the commission does not decide
It does not decide what the course says about the product. Every factual statement here about War Thunder comes from what the vendor and the network have published: a multiplayer war simulator covering planes, helicopters, tanks and ships, created and published by Gaijin Entertainment, running on desktop computers, with registration involving email confirmation and a login. Where we have no sourced fact, the course says so.
It does not decide the structure of the course. Steps 1, 2 and 3 work identically if you never follow a link, and Step 5 spends most of its length on reasons to spend nothing.
It does not buy praise. We publish no ratings, no scores, no "best of" rankings and no superlatives. There is no league table here for anyone to pay their way up.
What does decide the content
Three things, in order: what a newcomer in Australia actually needs to know, which is how the five steps were sequenced; what we can source, from the vendor, the network, or an Australian government body we can link to; and honesty about the limits of our own knowledge.
What the commercial relationship does determine is which product appears as the worked example: a course of this kind needs a concrete case, and ours is the one we are paid on. Our editorial method on the About page sets out the rules we hold ourselves to and the sources behind each step.
How the links are built
Each affiliate link points directly at its destination address, visible in your browser's status bar before you click. There is no redirect through this domain and no script that changes where a link goes. Each is marked as sponsored and opens in a new tab.
What we do not do
- We do not accept payment to publish, to place a product in a particular position, or to use particular wording.
- We do not publish sponsored articles, advertorials or anything written by a third party.
- We run no advertising on this site: no banners, no ad network, no tracking tags of any kind.
- We do not collect your details, and we have nothing to sell you directly. There is no form on this site.
Trademarks
All brand names on Exact Ratio, War Thunder among them, are the property of their owners. Except for the paid affiliate links described on our funding page, none of those owners is affiliated with Exact Ratio, and none has endorsed or sponsored it.
